In there were , firmware downloads of ROOter images. Since its inception there have been over , firmware downloads of all the different ROOter versions. It aims to give its users freedom and control over the software that runs on their hardware. Most of the hardware that libreCMC supports includes a wide range of routers and some small single board computers. A set of fully free embedded Operating Systems that work on routers and a wide range of general purpose computers.
I have used Shibby , which extended from tomato. For libreCMC the list of supported devices is long — but when looking at their website, only a few devices are supported. I have following devices, but did not find any support from libreCMC.
From where the list of supported devices was gathered? I like the AiMesh clustering of WiFi routers. How do I do that? What am I looking for? I have just acquired a TP-Link Archer vv v2 from an ISP that i have left two weeks after due to not being happy with their service, the router is locked to that ISP i was with and i want to unlock it, i can reset it to factory settings according to the ISP web page, but i want to flush the router and install new firmware, which at the moment is not available for this particular router at the TP-Link site in Australia.
So i am thinking that maybe the good people on this site may provide a new firmware for this Router. Fingers crossed for this request to happen. I updated my Belkin router firmware with DD-WRT, a lot of new features to work with compared to the one that comes with belkin.
I have a question. I can understand the reason for doing this for security but it makes little sense to include file system formatting commands and no way to create and edit usb hard disk and flash drive partitions on an NSA router? I need to create an ext4 partition on my usb 3.
IP wise. I have looked at all the sites but none of them even have this brand much less this router. Does anyone know any place? Original firmware is buggy as hell and very slow. There is literally no custom firmware for it. Very few AX routers are currently supported by any open firmware.
Just make sure you are on the latest Netgear firmware and there are many ways to run VPNs on routers. Try various types of VPN protocols I am sure you will find one that works on your router. I like StrongVPN because they support a wide range of protocols that fit in many different situations. Message 4 of I really do hope you are joking about having to replace the router. If I have to replace it, it will be replaced with a Linksys. You might want to relay that to whatever Poindexter put out that firmware upgrade.
You try to update a piece of equipment with the vendors update and it hoses it!?!? Out of curiosity, what difference does it make if it was trying to be updated over wireless? Message 5 of We are only trying to help afc sort out his issue. You don't want to upgrade with a wireless connection because it is not as stable as wired, possible yes but why risk any corruption. If it is found that upgrading the firmware from the site was a problem or caused the router to be non functional, customer's can have the router replaced by Netgear according to the warranty.
Message 6 of GRR this happened till me last week, stupid firmware I contacted one of the netgear support team wich keeps changing everytime for each question and told me that they will not send me a new one, because i bought a refurb.
This is not a hardware failure, as they set till me. Message 7 of The auto update from Netgear's site failed. It was causing a connection drop every xxx seconds.
I then tried to download and update again with the older version, and the connection dropped before I could complete the firmware update. Is there no other options if this happens? I need this thing replaced under warranty. The router itself suggested the update and I said yes. I was NOT on wireless when I tried this. Message 8 of If you are unable to access the router with a computer on the same network, call into tech support for a replacement. Message 9 of Hello, I tried this and now connection.
The checkmark light is on. I am trying to get through on your tech support line with no success. Can you send me the instructions with RMA??? Message 10 of Same situation here - sent a real Netgear firmware update to the router, and voila, a glorious brick. Not so much when I hook it to the serial console and access the boot prompt. Can you say "voided warranty"? I've been able to get it to download an ELF boot file from TFTP, but for lack of one that works with this model, and inability to decypher the ridiculous "CHK" file format for firmware upgrades, I'm left with just a boot prompt on the serial console.
Message 11 of Well, for what it's worth, I got ahold of another identical WGTv2 the second one I bought at the same time and hooked it up the same way. Do the same with the channel. On demand, activate WEP encryption recommended! If everything went fine , no message appears and we find ourselves back onto the prompt. Elsewise, maybe "Error " or something similar appears. In that case check your connection to the AP correct IP address? A remark: The MAC address which is inserted here, must be with colons and in capital letters.
Finally, three inputs follow:. If everything went good, the client should announce to the AP after the reboot. Some additional remarks: I absolutely don't recommend to play around in the routers console, if you have no idea what you are doing!
