Oleg Tsvinev. I always thought it's done intentionally to prevent people from running Cassandra and Tomcat on the same machine because chances are they will fight for resources.
I am facing that very same resource crunch right now. I need to have both tomcat and Cassandra locally up and running in my development environment and I can't tell you how badly it crawls with both of them up. Now that we are on this topic, are there any settings that I can tune to make Cassandra eat less resources in a simple, development setup?

Solution: Observation is that some how Flex builder is not able to recognize to instance of Flash Debugger running in the browsers, i. Maurycy Zarzycki. Closing browser did not help, but I have managed to solve the problem using the TPCView tool mentioned in one of the two threads. Afterwards it works like a charm. One of possible solution is to launch your flash application in run mode,then close the application and try to launch in debug mode. This solution works in my case.
