Casey sreenan olympic trials

Though he couldn't do into a lot of detail about the ship's port calls, Sreenan estimates the ship will arrive in Antarctica in December or January and be moored for a few weeks, which is summertime in that part of the world when temperatures don't get any higher than 20 degrees. He will spend seven to nine months aboard the Polar Star. When the ship returns to its home port of Seattle, Sreenan intends to put his name on the wait list for rescue swimmer school, a training regimen that rivals that of the Navy SEALs.

You don't go down this path half-heartedly. Sreenan, who grew up in Miami, started swimming in seventh grade, but only did so for fun. He didn't start swimming competitively until his sophomore year of high school when his coach, David Rodriguez, whipped him into shape.

In those three prior years, Sreenan simply didn't have the motivation. He liked water polo more, but Rodriguez saw the potential, and soon had Sreenan pulling doubles year-round. His performances eventually caught the eye of former Wolverine Fernando Canales, who was an assistant coach to Bob Bowman, the head coach of the program at the time. Even though Bottom wasn't the coach that recruited him, Sreenan never wavered in his commitment.

He wanted to leave Miami and get out on his own, and it didn't hurt that Bottom's specialty was in the sprints, the same events that Sreenan swam in high school. He improved within the team every year to the point where he was on the travel squads as a junior and senior, the highlight of which was being able to contribute to the team's Big Ten title in when he scored points in the yard breaststroke.

He even gave some of his scholarship back so the coaching staff could use it toward the recruitment of another swimmer. Sean Ryan Michigan, current 4. Bobby Savulich Michigan, Davis Tarwater Michigan, 4.
